OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ will be filmed internationally, according to Scarlett Johansson. The actress – who plays Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanoff in the films – has revealed the sequel to last year’s superhero blockbuster ‘Avengers’ will see Marvel’s contingent of superheroes fight crime on a global scale.
She told Interview magazine: “We’ll be shooting that in January. I think we’re taking it to the streets this time, I think we’re going overseas.”
Most of the first movie, which was directed by Joss Whedon, was set in the United States and culminated in a major battle that took place in New York City.
The entire ‘Avengers’ cast are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel, with Robert Downey Jr. leading the cast as Iron Man. Other stars include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye.
Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Emmy Award-winning actor James Spader has been cast in the role of Ultron, the film’s titular antagonist.
The actor revealed he has already begun preparing for the film, which isn’t expected in cinemas until May 2015.
He told The Inquirer: “I have spoken to Joss Whedon about it. And yes, actually, just this weekend I went in for them to take very extensive photographs, head scans, body scans and all kinds of things in preparation for figuring out how the hell I’m gonna fit in this Ultron character!”
