Michael Fassbender is rumoured to be up for the role of Magneto in ‘X Men: First Class’. The ‘Inglorious Basterds’ actor is reportedly being lined up by the film’s director Matthew Vaughn to play a younger version of the character made famous in the original series by Sir Ian McKellen.
‘Starter for Ten’ actor James McAvoy has already been confirmed for the part of Charles Xavier, while Aaron Johnson and Frank Dillane are also being touted as likely stars.
However, the ‘X Men’ prequel is not the only action movie Michael could be starring in, as he also is reportedly the actor of choice new ‘Spider-Man’ director Marc Webb.
A source close to the star revealed it is unlikely he will be able to appear in both films.
The ‘Hunger’ actor recently explained he tends to act on his instinct when selecting movie roles.
He said: “I’ve been going on my gut pretty much from the beginning. I’m not always going to get it right, but risk interests me. There is some embarrassing element to everything I do in life.
