Jude Law almost ducked out of a second Sherlock Holmes adventure. The British star says his double-act with Robert Downey Jr. worked so well in the first movie that he feared they wouldn’t be able to replicate it for a sequel.

“The one thing I was scared about coming into this second movie was would we be able to pick it up again?” says Jude who plays Dr Watson in the Guy Ritchie-directed franchise.

“I really thought it was something that just happened once and we wouldn’t be able to do it again. But from our rehearsals over at Robert’s house, prior to filming, we really slipped straight back into it. If anything, because we didn’t have to get to know each other, it was even better I think.”

Law recently said that being an actor is like being Sherlock Holmes.

“I suppose, some days I wake up and I have to be responsible and down-to-earth and reliable, and other days I don’t,” he said.

“I think this job in particular allows us all to be Holmes-ian; eccentric and imaginative and creative and to think out of the box. Real life, away from work, requires us to be slightly more Dr. John Watson.”
